About me

How Do You Know I’m Qualified and Safe to Work With?

Choosing a counsellor is a big decision, and it's completely natural to want to feel reassured that you're in safe,    capable hands.

I am a qualified therapist, holding a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Post-Qualification Diploma in Eating Disorders. My training allows me to work with a wide range of emotional difficulties, and I continue to engage in

regular professional development to keep my knowledge and skills current.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I work within their respected Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. This includes a commitment to:

  • Confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Ongoing supervision and accountability
  • Putting your wellbeing and safety at the heart of everything I do

Being BACP registered also means you can verify my membership and qualifications through their public directory if you wish.

In short, I take your trust seriously. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and fully supported throughout your counselling journey.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe that we all have the capacity to be the best version of ourselves,

to heal, and reconnect with who we are at our core. My role is to help

guide you and provide some clarity, to help you make sense of things

and start to feel more grounded, both emotionally and within yourself.

Many of the people I work with come to me feeling:

  • Stuck or overwhelmed by life
  • Disconnected from themselves or unsure who they are anymore
  • Trapped in cycles of stress, anxiety, perfectionism or burnout
  • Unhappy in their relationship with food or their body
  • As though they’ve “lost their spark” and just want to feel like them again

Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or simply know something isn’t right, I offer a calm, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings safely.

I adapt my methodologies to each client. Meaning that I tailor our counselling sessions to best suit your own uniwue needs. We are all unique and different so how can we expect one technique to work for us all?

I draw from a range of therapeutic techniques, but always with empathy, curiosity, and respect at the core.

Supporting You to Feel More Like You

A key part of therapy is reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been quiet for a while—your inner voice, your values, your confidence.

Through our work together, many clients:

  • Begin to feel less lost and more grounded
  • Reconnect with a sense of meaning and self-direction
  • Build inner confidence and self-acceptance
  • Feel lighter, calmer, and more emotionally resilient
  • Start to experience happiness from within, not just based on external expectations

Some clients ask me to "fix" them. I have to be honest here- I can't "fix" you.

I can't "fix" you because you are not broken.

I don’t believe you’re broken—because the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours you’re struggling with often make perfect sense in the context of your life. They’re not signs of failure; they’re responses to pain, loss, pressure, trauma, or simply the weight of trying to hold everything together for too long. The parts of you that feel anxious, disconnected, or ashamed have often developed as ways to cope or survive. In therapy, we don’t judge those parts—we get curious about them. When we start to understand where they came from, we can begin to loosen their grip and find gentler, more empowering ways to move forward. You don’t need fixing. You need space to be seen, heard, and supported—just as you are.

Counselling That Fits Into Your Life

I offer both in-person counselling in Exeter and online therapy across the UK, giving you flexibility in how you access support. Whether you prefer the quiet of a counselling room or the comfort of home, you deserve a space that feels safe and supportive. I am also disability friendly.

Therapy doesn’t have to be rushed, intense, or intimidating. It can be gentle, steady, and tailored to you.

My experience

Having experienced counselling myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feel to take the first step. The process can seem like a minefield, especially when trying to find the right counsellor for you. But I also know just how transformative counselling can be. For me, therapy was a turning point. It helped me understand myself better, see situations from different perspectives, and provided me with valuable techniques to navigate life’s challenges. It was this profound impact that inspired me to train and become a counsellor — to offer others the same opportunity for growth and healing.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I adhere to their ethical guidelines, ensuring that I offer professional, ethical, and client-centred support at all times.

I’ve had the privilege of providing counselling services at AGE UK, and I currently provide counselling for Parental Minds, a charity that supports families struggling with their mental health. Through these roles, I’ve seen firsthand how invaluable counselling can be. At Parental Minds, I've witnessed parents rediscover themselves amidst the fog of overwhelming emotions and stress. The change I’ve seen in families and individuals is a constant reminder of the power of therapeutic support.

In addition to my general counselling experience, I have undertaken a Post-Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders, which has deepened my understanding of the complex relationship people have with food and their bodies. I am passionate about empowering clients to embrace who they are, to be proud of themselves, and to work towards a place of self-acceptance and healing.

I have also completed further training in trauma, grief, and anger, which has helped me develop a well-rounded understanding of the challenges people face and the most effective ways to support them.

Each step of my journey as a counsellor has only strengthened my belief in the healing power of therapy. My aim is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we work together towards your personal growth.
